Role description 

Industrial placement students will be part of the collaborative development and supply of technologies or products across a diverse business producing a mix of commercial and military equipment. This could include; Head Up, Head Down or Head Worn Displays, Safety Critical Pilot Controls, Vehicle Control Systems or Mission Systems across land, sea or airborne platforms. 

Core duties 

• Collaboration to develop, validate and maintain product requirements 
• Contributing to system development using a Model Based Engineering (MBE) approach 
• Creating or contributing to theoretical analyses and sharing the findings
• Carrying out modelling of behavioural scenarios or system performance to understand system operation and interactions 
• Conducting laboratory test of real time systems comprising interdependent technical disciplines such as electronic, mechanical, optical and software components

Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks.

As a minimum requirement you’ll need to be on track to obtain, a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree or a pass at Master’s level in the following subjects: Any STEM subject.
