An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 1.0WTE permanent post within the Outpatient and Associated Services Directorate. This post provides project management across a range of clinical services and multiple hospital sites.

You will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of modernisation and quality improvement projects across a number of key specialties. This role requires close and effective working with a wide range of colleagues from primary and secondary care.

We are seeking an individual who has significant experience of successfully managing projects or working in a project-focused environment. You will have excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels and work collaboratively across professional and organisational boundaries. You will also have strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and variation, generate meaningful insights and translate these into evidence-based recommendations that support service improvement and decision-making. The work is aligned to NHS Scotland Centre for Sustainable Delivery objectives and NHS Lothian’s Outpatient Strategic Framework, which collectively aim to improve patient journeys by delivering sustainable changes to support safe, effective, and person-centered care, while enhancing overall system performance and efficiency.

Educated to degree level or with equivalent experience, along with a demonstrable Project Management qualification or experience.

Must be proficient in IT, particularly in the use of Microsoft Office professional. Experience of using and creating databases is essential, and a working knowledge of the TRAK patient management system and tableau dashboards is desirable.

You must have well-developed organisational, planning, and time management skills, along with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, demonstrating a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, including the ability to engage, influence and work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. You should have the ability to work to deadlines, manage competing priorities, and use your initiative to progress tasks independently. An understanding of outpatient service provision would be beneficial for this role.
