A well-regarded and progressive secondary school in Portsmouth is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Music ECT to join its thriving Performing Arts department from September. The Role
The school is looking for an enthusiastic Music ECT who can deliver engaging and inspiring lessons that develop students’ performance, composition, and listening skills. The successful Music ECT will benefit from a structured induction programme and ongoing support from experienced colleagues.
Responsibilities of the Music ECT include:
Teaching Music across KS3 and KS4
Planning engaging lessons that develop musical skills and creativity
Supporting students in performance, composition, and theory
Encouraging participation in ensembles, concerts, and school productions
Monitoring pupil progress and providing constructive feedback

The Ideal Candidate
The successful Music ECT will:
Be completing or have recently completed a PGCE or teacher training programme in Music
Be able to teach Music across KS3 and KS4
Demonstrate passion for music and student engagement
Have strong communication and organisational skills
Be eager to develop professionally within a progressive school environment
