You'll take responsibility for your own Key Stage 2 class, creating an environment where pupils feel confident to participate, ask questions, make mistakes and challenge themselves.

You'll plan and deliver lessons across the primary curriculum, adapting your teaching to ensure pupils with different abilities and learning needs can make meaningful progress.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging KS2 lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
• Creating a positive, purposeful and inclusive classroom environment.
• Using assessment effectively to understand pupil progress and identify next steps.
• Adapting teaching and resources for different abilities and additional needs.
• Supporting pupils who require additional intervention or challenge.
• Developing children's confidence, independence and enthusiasm for learning.
• Establishing clear routines and high expectations for behaviour.
• Working closely with teaching assistants to maximise classroom support.
• Contributing to curriculum planning and development across the year group.
• Maintaining accurate records of pupil progress.
• Building positive relationships with parents and carers.
• Working collaboratively with teachers across the phase and wider school.
• Participating in staff meetings, training and professional development.
• Contributing to the wider life and community of the school.

Successful primary teaching isn't simply about delivering lessons.

It's about understanding the children sitting in front of you.

Some pupils will need additional explanation or a different way of approaching a task. Others will need greater challenge. Some may require support with SEND, communication, confidence or emotional regulation.

You'll be encouraged to develop a classroom where every pupil feels included and capable of making progress .

You'll work alongside teaching assistants, the SENCO and other professionals where appropriate to ensure children receive the support they need while still developing their independence as learners.

You'll need:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• A good understanding of the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• The ability to plan engaging and appropriately challenging lessons.
• An understanding of assessment and pupil progress.
• A commitment to inclusive teaching.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
• A genuine commitment to children's learning and development.

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one , will also be required.
