About the Role

Smart Vision School is seeking an outstanding and inspirational Secondary Science Teacher to join our growing secondary team. The successful candidate will have the expertise, enthusiasm and drive to deliver engaging Science lessons that inspire curiosity and develop a lifelong love of learning.

As our secondary school continues to expand, this position presents an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is looking to make a genuine impact beyond the classroom. We are particularly interested in candidates who possess the ambition, leadership potential and commitment to progress into a Head of Department role within the next 12–24 months as the Science department grows in size and scope.

This role would suit an experienced practitioner or newly qualified teacher who is excited by the prospect of helping to build and shape a department, contributing to curriculum development and supporting the strategic growth of Science across the school.

The successful candidate will:

• Deliver high-quality Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and, as the school expands, Key Stage 4 and beyond.

• Foster a stimulating and inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to achieve their full potential.

• Support the development and implementation of a rigorous and engaging Science curriculum.

• Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and inform teaching.

• Contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment activities and school events.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support continuous school improvement.

• Play an active role in the development and future leadership of the Science department.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• A recognised teaching qualification and relevant degree in Science or a related field.

• Experience teaching Science within the British curriculum.

• Proven experience teaching GCSE Science, with a strong understanding of examination requirements and student outcomes.

• The vision and expertise required to help guide the school through its first GCSE cohorts.

• A passion for curriculum development and the introduction of A Level Science courses in the future.

• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

• High expectations for student achievement and personal development.

• The ambition and leadership potential to progress into a Head of Department position as the school continues to grow.
