Audiology Patient Pathway Administrator | Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Part-time

We are looking for an experienced administrator to play an important role in the administrative service for the Audiology Department at OUH, based at the John Radcliffe Hospital. The Audiology team provides high quality care for individuals of all ages with disorders of hearing and balance including an Auditory Implant Programme. With an emphasis on supporting the paediatric audiology service, this role includes co-ordination of patient waiting lists and staff rotas, responding to queries from families and colleagues and providing reassurance when required. There will also be some PA support for senior clinical staff. This is a rewarding role where you will be in regular communication with clinical staff and patients. We are a close-knit team with a positive departmental culture and you will be working closely with both clinical and administrative colleagues.

Excellent communication both within and external to the organization is required including communication with service-users (usually to answer telephone queries from patients and families), and with clinical and non-clinical staff. You will be IT proficient, organised and reliable, with an eye for detail. A key relationship is with the Ear, Nose and Throat Department (ENT), and the post holder is required to liaise frequently with ENT administrative staff and managers.

This is a busy role and the ability to be flexible and prioritise tasks is a must. You will be a self-starter who shows initiative and is good at problem solving. You will have a positive approach to work, be a team-player and will be flexible depending on the demands of the service. Excellent attention to detail is a must.

Applicants are expected to have previous NHS or public sector administrative experience.

You will be based at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.Work occurs during office hours. The post is funded at 28 hours / week (0.75wte) and requests for a flexible working pattern will be considered.A limited amount of home-based working may be possible.
