Merchandiser (Retail)

As Merchandiser, you’ll play a key role in planning, trading and shaping future ranges across a multi‑channel retail business.  This will include helping ensure sales and margin budgets while effectively managing stock levels in line with business targets.

Merchandiser (Retail) – The Job Outline

• Raise POs in a timely manner for both Seasonal and Never Out of Stock lines.
• Accurate forward‑forecasting of intake and OTB to deliver sales & margin targets, highlighting any potential risk or opportunities
• Ensure timely production planning to secure capacity and achieve on‑time deliveries
• In‑season trading: analysing performance, highlighting best/worst sellers & proposing action
• Maintain WSSI, stock integrity, critical paths and internal documentation
• Manage supplier relationships and ensure goods arrive on time and in full
• Oversee branch distribution planning with the Retail team
• Check and process supplier invoices & packing lists
• Support senior management with process improvement initiatives
• Monitoring competitor activity to influence strategy and decision‑making

Merchandiser (Retail) – The Person:

• At least 3 years’ experience as a Junior Merchandiser/ or Merchandiser in a retail branded business
• Commercial awareness and a proactive, results‑driven approach
• Strong intermediate IT skills, especially Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication, organisational and time‑management skills
• High attention to detail, numeracy and the ability to work using your own initiative
• Decisive, influential and able to build strong relationships all levels, internal & external.
• Team player with a flexible, positive approach.
• Ability to travel if required.
