Occupational Therapy Clinical Support Worker

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the NHS Fife Occupational Therapy Service for a Band 4 Occupational Therapy support worker to work within the Medical Occupational Therapy team. This post is based in the acute medical wards at the Victoria Hospital, however as part of your role you may be required to support OT activity across the hospital. The post requires an ability to travel throughout Fife for the delivery of equipment or follow up visits.

As a support worker you will assist the Occupational Therapy team in the delivery of a range of client-centered interventions which focus on a return to independence in activities of daily living to promote discharge from hospital.

This is a diverse role within a multi-disciplinary team and will entail a range of different duties with a complex client group. You will require good communication skills, a flexible approach, and the ability to carry out allocated tasks independently, effectively and to a high standard.

There are opportunities within the service for support workers to participate in relevant education and development programmes and regular supervision will be provided.

Previous experience of working with patients with a range of conditions and complex needs is desirable and an SVQ level 3 certificate in health/social care or evidence of working towards is essential

24 hrs (over 3 or 4 days) will include weekend working
