We're on the quest for a Head of English to lead our dynamic English department. You'll be the architect, crafting a curriculum that unleashes the inner wordsmith in every student. By fostering a love of learning and equipping them with critical thinking and communication skills, you'll prepare them to conquer the world!
Your superpowers will include:
- Building a Captivating World of Words: Design an engaging English program that ignites a passion for reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Make it relevant, cater to diverse learners, and transport them to new worlds.
- Empowering Your Fellow Wordsmiths: Provide strong leadership and support to your English teachers. Foster collaboration, professional development, and a shared vision for excellence.
- Championing Innovation: Stay ahead of the curve and design a curriculum that's rigorous, engaging, and prepares students for success beyond exams.
- Unleashing Student Potential: Set high expectations and ensure all students become language masters, regardless of background or ability. Nurture a love of learning that empowers them for life!
- Building Bridges of Communication: Collaborate with colleagues across the curriculum to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment that celebrates diversity.
We're seeking a leader who:
- Has a proven track record of success as a Head of English or a senior leader in English.
- Holds a QTS and a degree in English or a related subject.
- Possesses leadership skills that inspire, motivate, and empower others.
- Is a passionate advocate for English literature with a deep understanding of the curriculum.
- Communicates, collaborates, and organizes with exceptional skill.
- Champions inclusion and tailors lessons to meet all student needs.
- Embraces continuous professional development and innovation.
