Locum Rheumatology and General Medicine Consultant Physician

- This is a Fixed term post for 12 months
Applications are welcome for the above Locum Rheumatology and General Medicine Consultant post within the department of Rheumatology Medicine based within Inverclyde Royal Hospital ( IRH). .The department is closely linked to the wider Rheumatology team based across the Clyde Sector (including The Royal Alexandra and The Vale of Leven Hospitals). The Clyde Sector team provides a general Rheumatology Service as well as access to a number of sub-specialities.
The post will be for a period of 12 months to support delivery of inpatient care and has arisen due to special leave within the existing consultant workforce. The successful applicant will join an extensive team of Acute and General Physicians Applicants must have full GMC registration and a licence to practise. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT in General (Internal) Medicine or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR) or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from date of Interview. This is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly and dedicated team at IRH and to steer and influence the future design and direction of the service. This is a 10 programmed activity (10 PA) Consultant post. There is a degree of flexibility in this role in relation to specialist interests, including clinicians who are seeking to integrate academic or research opportunities within the PA sessions
Essential
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the IRH consultant medical receiving rota.
Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a license to practice, FRCA (or equivalent) and eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.

The job plan is designed for a full time post, however there may be the opportunity to negotiate job plans. The Consultant team strongly advocates team working and support to ensure a healthy work-life balance.
