Secondary School Teaching Assistant
£100 - £110 per day - Salary dependent on experience
Full-time / Part Time (3 - 5 days per week)
Monday to Friday
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants to join our team supporting students across a large secondary school in Wythenshawe. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in young people's lives while developing your career in education.
About the Role
Working directly with students aged 11-16 who have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), you will provide crucial support to help them access the curriculum and reach their full potential. You'll be part of a committed team delivering both in-class support and small group interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with various special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and social-emotional challenges
* Work collaboratively with teachers to adapt learning materials and ensure lessons are accessible to all students
* Support students' emotional and social development, helping them build confidence and independence
* Maintain detailed records of student progress and contribute to educational healthcare plans (EHCPs)
* Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your SEND expertise Required Qualifications & Experience: * Level 2 qualification in English and Maths (GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent)
* Experience working with young people with SEND (professional or voluntary)
* Understanding of safeguarding principles and practices
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to inclusive education Desirable Qualities: * Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or willingness to work towards this
* Experience in a secondary school setting
* Knowledge of specific SEND interventions and support strategies
