Key Responsibilities & Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic specialist with a degree in Design & Technology, Product Design, or a related technical field , holding QTS , and possessing proven experience teaching across the secondary age range.

In this full-time role, you will:

• Instruction & Attainment: Deliver high-quality, practical, and theoretical lessons in Design & Technology across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and GCSE (KS4) . The ability to teach A-Level is highly desirable.
• Technical Proficiency: Confidently instruct students in the safe use of workshop tools, machinery, and modern technologies, including CAD/CAM, laser cutting, and 3D printing .
• Curriculum Development: Plan and deliver a challenging and diverse curriculum, focusing on iterative design processes, material properties, and critical evaluation.
• Safety & Maintenance: Assist with the daily maintenance and organization of the workshops, ensuring strict adherence to Health and Safety protocols (e.g., CLEAPSS, COSHH).
• Collaboration: Contribute actively to the wider faculty, sharing best practices and supporting the school's commitment to STEM and practical skills education.
