Crisis Support Worker for Children & Young People

At Paragon Social Care , that’s exactly what you’ll do! We’re on the lookout for passionate, caring, and resilient individuals to join our incredible team of Children’s Support Workers .

As a Children’s Support Workers , you’ll play a crucial role in providing safe, nurturing, and therapeutic care during some of the most critical moments in a young person’s life. Our support packages are designed to meet individual needs offering wraparound, 24/7 support with staffing ratios ranging from 2:1 up to 6:1 , depending on each young person’s circumstances.

This is a rewarding and flexible role , ideal for those who thrive in dynamic environments and want to make a real difference.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Create a safe, stable, and supportive environment for children and young people in crisis.
  • Children’s Support Workers Support with daily routines from meal preparation to maintaining a tidy home.
  • Encourage engagement in education, hobbies, and community activities that promote growth and confidence.
  • Supporting medical appointments and community activities.
  • Using your own vehicle to transport young people when needed.
  •  Helping them move forward with confidence into their next chapter.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

You’ll need:

  • A flexible approach ( waking nights, weekends, and sleep-ins when required)
  • A full UK driving licence , access to your own vehicle, and business insurance .
  • An enhanced DBS (or Willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS) and full Right to Work in the UK.
  • Experience working with children or young people (paid or voluntary )

A relevant qualification (NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care or equivalent) is desirable, but not essential.

The Role

Each shift brings something new, but your impact is constant. You’ll be:

  • Providing safe, trauma-informed care
  • Creating structure, routine, and a calm environment
  • Supporting education, independence, and life skills
  • Preparing meals and promoting healthy daily habits
  • Ensuring young people feel heard, respected, and valued
  • Attending appointments and community activities
  • Transporting young people using your own vehicle when required
  • Helping them transition positively into their next placement or future pathway

What You’ll Need

✔ Experience supporting children or young people (voluntary or paid)
✔ A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
✔ Emotional resilience, empathy, and patience
✔ Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and sleep-ins
✔ Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to apply)

A Level 3 qualification in Children’s Residential Care (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.

What We Offer

Competitive hourly rates:

£17.50ph - £24.00ph PAYE Rate (including holiday pay)

£20.00ph - £28.00ph Umbrella Rate
