37 hours per week. Brief outline of the job purpose and main tasks: To lead and coordinate partnership working to reduce crime, anti-social behaviour and community harm across the borough. The role is responsible for developing and delivering the Community Safety Partnership Plan, chairing and supporting key multi-agency forums, managing complex and high-risk community safety cases, and providing professional advice, reports and policy reviews to Members, senior officers and partner organisations. The post will also have management responsibility for the ASB Officer and requires confidence in report writing and reviewing policies and procedures to ensure they remain effective, compliant and fit for purpose. The role oversees key governance, funding, reporting and domestic abuse review responsibilities to support safer communities. About the team: You will join the Leisure and Communities team within the People and Communities Directorate. Community safety is a key corporate priority, and the role sits at the centre of multi-agency working locally, influencing borough-wide priorities and supporting Members and senior officers through evidence-based advice. - GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent relevant experience in community safety
- Experience of partnership working in a community safety, crime reduction or ASB context
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policy and best practice
- Experience of report writing, policy reviews and briefing and presenting information clearly
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Qualification in community safety, criminology, social policy or a related field
- Experience working with the Police or statutory partners
- Experience of managing staff or supervising officers
- Experience of managing projects or budgets
- Documentary evidence that you are eligible to work in the UK
- References from your two most recent employers covering at least 3 years
- Completion of a medical questionnaire and declaration
- A full driver's license
- DBS check
- Evidence of relevant professional qualification(s)
