Are you passionate about supporting individuals in their language learning journey? We’re looking for a proactive and organised Administrative Assistant ESOL Support to join our team. This role combines administrative responsibilities with direct engagement in supporting ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) learners through tailored one-on-one and group sessions.
You’ll play a key role in helping learners improve their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills, while also supporting their employability and right-to-work needs. You’ll deliver one-on-one and group sessions to support ESOL learners, tailoring teaching strategies to meet individual and group needs while fostering a supportive environment that encourages active participation and peer learning. You’ll monitor learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and assist with employability and right-to-work guidance. Alongside these learner-focused duties, you will carry out general administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence, as well as organising meetings, appointments, and events. Maintaining accurate records of ESOL sessions and administrative activities is essential, and you will also support the wider team with ad-hoc administrative tasks as needed Our ideal candidate will bring previous experience in an administrative role preferably within an educational or ESOL setting alongside strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent organisational abilities, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and a collaborative, empathetic approach to working with learners from diverse backgrounds In return for your dedication, knowledge, and commitment, we’re offering a competitive salary range £25,877.80 p.a. with these great benefits:- 25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays + Birthday Day off (with the opportunity to buy additional days)

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one and group sessions to support ESOL customers in improving their language skills.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies tailored to individual and group needs
- Monitor and assess the progress of ESOL customers, providing feedback and guidance.
- Encourage group participation, foster peer-to-peer learning, and ensure that all customers feel comfortable speaking and practicing English.
- Support ESOL customers with employability and right to work needs
- Tailor sessions to the specific needs and learning levels of individual customers.
- Perform general office administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.
- Assist in organising and scheduling meetings, appointments, and events.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to ESOL sessions and administrative activities.
- Support the team with various administrative tasks as needed.
- Acts as an employee owner always considering the best interests of the company, shareholders and other colleagues
- Ensures best practice is identified, adhered to and championed
- Is prepared to work flexibly to meet the needs of the role, including any necessary travel and overnight stays
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in an administrative role is essential, preferably within an educational or ESOL setting.
- Experience conducting one-on-one or group teaching/tutoring sessions is preferred, especially in language instruction.
- Experience working with diverse, multicultural populations is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual learners.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to work effectively with learners of different backgrounds and levels of language proficiency.
- A collaborative and team-oriented attitude, with the ability to take initiative.
