We have an opportunity for a Project Manager to join our Change Team on a 12 month limited term contract. Job Purpose The role holder will lead and manage strategic and transformational projects in accordance with the NPWI project methodology standards that provide exceptional value to the business in a timely and efficient manner. The role is primarily focussed on the management of projects but business and system analysis is required within certain aspects of the work activity. Responsibilities & Duties Project Management
- Own the delivery of projects and be accountable to senior executives on the delivery.
- Contribute to project roadmaps and be able to breakdown and plan activities into their component parts.
- Develop user stories in line with agile project principles.
- Manage external suppliers, vendors and partners to ensure project goals are met.
- Drive awareness of milestones and task execution and ensure senior management are aware of potential blockers and delays.
- Adapt and use difference project methodologies for different types of projects.
- Undertake programme reporting and budgetary oversight.
- Organise and support agile sprints.
- Define project scope and project roadmap.
- Organise and lead project meetings, workshops, retrospectives and implementation activities.
- Focus on regular, timely delivery of value.
- Prepare and distribute progress reports.
- Manage project risks and issues.
- Correct deviations from project plans.
- Perform delivery planning.
- Manage stakeholder communications.
- Working closely with your teams on project communication strategies.
- Mentor junior project managers and be an advocate for change across the business.
- Support the Sponsor in defining scope, schedule, suitable metrics and priorities.
- Liaise with colleagues in our wider Group to ensure alignment on support matters.
- Help manage customer expectations.
- Implement effective project governance and controls.
- Champion ongoing process improvement and best practices.
- Demonstrate quality and functionality of deliverables for approval and sign off.
- Previous experience of Banking, Investment and General Ledger platforms
- Previous project management of data, system migrations and upgrades.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to establish / maintain high levels of customer trust and confidence.
- Excellent presentation skills and able to present and articulate project progress up to Board level.
- Participation in Digital Transformation programmes in a Banking and Investment industry.
- Experience in either a Business Analysis or Systems Analysis role.
- Able to demonstrate a strong track record of success during challenging assignments.
- Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Team, Microsoft Project and Visio.
- Minimum of 5 years project management experience.
- Agile experience.
- Proven track record of successfully implementing software, IT and business projects.
- Experience leading multi-function project teams.
