In this rewarding role, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons designed to meet the individual needs of students with a variety of special educational needs and disabilities. Your ability to create a nurturing, inclusive, and structured classroom environment will be essential in helping pupils build confidence and reach their full potential.

The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of SEN teaching practices, along with experience supporting children with diverse learning needs. Patience, adaptability, and excellent communication skills will be key in building positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, and occupational therapists, ensuring a holistic and well-supported approach to student development and wellbeing.

Located in the historic and well-connected city of Weston Super Mare, this role offers a competitive daily rate of £145.00 - £260, reflecting the value placed on experienced SEN professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the needs of SEN pupils
• Implement effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary professionals to support individual student outcomes
• Assess and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies where necessary
• Build strong relationships with parents and carers, providing regular feedback and updates
• Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to further enhance SEN teaching practice

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Previous experience working with SEN pupils, ideally within a supply or full-time teaching role
• Strong understanding of SEN teaching strategies and best practice
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to teaching and learning
• Commitment to continuous professional development
• Flexibility to work full-time on a supply basis, with potential for long-term opportunities
