An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Department of Haematology/Oncology for a highly organised individual to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful applicant will be based in the oncology unit within the outpatient settings, predominantly within the Chemotherapy/SACT outpatient settings but will be required to vary their workplace within the Haematology/Oncology Clinic setting when required.
The successful candidate will be required to provide a high quality, safe and supportive environment for patients, carers and relatives within the oncology unit.
Day to day duties will include an administration role, which involves managing SACT treatment referrals and appointments, ordering of supplies, answering phones, phlebotomy skills, dealing with the public on a daily basis and carrying out general tasks to ensure efficient patient flow though the department.
In addition to this as part of a multidisciplinary team the post holder will carry out routine individual care duties for patients, clients, carers and relatives when required.
Working closely with the Senior Nursing and Medical team would be expected. Excellent communication is essential. Knowledge of Computer and referral systems used within NHS Scotland would be beneficial but not essential as training would be given.
