Join the team at the Northern Ireland Housing Executive in Newtownabbey as a Maintenance Officer and play a key role in supporting the delivery of essential maintenance services across housing properties. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the upkeep and improvement of homes, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard within a public sector environment. Responsibilities

• Ensuring maintenance repairs to Housing Executive homes are carried out to exacting cost, quality and time standards in accordance with the terms of contracts.
• Inspection of the property, preparation of a schedule of works, costing and recommending payment for completed works.
• Give explanations of policy, procedures and regulations or resolve issues where doubt exists.
• Carrying out public liability inspections on blocks of flats and walkways.
• Dealing with contractors and tenants on a daily basis.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• BTEC Higher Certificate/Diploma or equivalent qualification in a relevant Building/Construction discipline AND 1 year minimum relevant experience in a similar role carrying out maintenance inspections on properties.
• OR 5 years of practical experience carrying out day to day maintenance inspections on properties.
• Technical knowledge of house construction.
• IT/ Microsoft Office Proficiency - Beginner.
