Accountancy Practice recruitment specialists Clark Wood are working with a highly regarded and rapidly expanding firm of chartered accountants in Exeter who are looking to recruit a Corporate Tax Senior / Assistant Manager to join their established and growing corporate tax team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Corporate Tax professional to join a forward-thinking firm that has developed a strong reputation for delivering high-quality tax compliance and advisory services to an impressive and varied client base. Working with clients ranging from owner-managed businesses to large multi-entity groups, you will gain excellent exposure to a broad range of corporate tax matters while developing your technical expertise and career.

The successful candidate will work closely with experienced corporate tax specialists and the wider tax team, supporting on a variety of compliance and advisory assignments. Your responsibilities will include preparing corporation tax computations and returns, undertaking technical research, assisting with capital allowances, R&D claims, transactional tax work, due diligence, restructuring, and tax planning projects.

Alongside managing your own assignments, you will have regular client interaction, building strong working relationships and providing a high-quality service. You will also support junior members of the team, helping to develop their technical skills, and have the opportunity to contribute to business development and wider commercial initiatives.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Preparing corporation tax computations and returns
- Supporting corporate tax advisory assignments
- Undertaking technical research and preparing tax advice
- Assisting with capital allowances and R&D claims
- Supporting transactional tax work and due diligence projects
- Assisting with restructuring and tax planning assignments
- Managing client deadlines and ensuring high-quality delivery
- Building strong relationships with clients and colleagues
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the tax team
- Contributing to business development and marketing activities where appropriate

Skills:

- ATT / CTA or ACA / CTA Qualified, Part Qualified, or actively studying towards qualification
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a corporate tax compliance role within practice
- Strong technical knowledge of UK corporate taxation
- Experience with corporate tax computations and returns
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and client relationship abilities
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise workloads effectively
- Experience with Alphatax would be advantageous
