We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing group of businesses looking for a Finance Assistant to join their friendly finance team in Cockermouth. About the role

As Finance Assistant, you'll support the wider finance function with a broad range of responsibilities across sales ledger, credit control, reconciliations and month-end activities. This is a varied role where accuracy, organisation and communication are key.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Raising customer invoices and credit notes

• Managing the sales ledger and supporting credit control activities

• Reconciling customer and balance sheet accounts

• Assisting with month-end processes and management accounts

• Processing employee expenses

• Supporting intercompany transactions and reconciliations

• Maintaining accurate financial records using Sage Intacct

• Producing finance reports and supporting audit requirements

• Assisting with continuous improvement projects across the finance function

About you

We're looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a team and takes pride in producing accurate work.

You'll ideally have:

• AAT Level 3 qualification, with Level 4 preferred

• Previous experience in a finance or accounts role

• Experience of sales ledger and credit control

• Strong reconciliation skills and excellent attention to detail

• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and support colleagues
