Are you an experienced and qualified adult health and social care trainer, and passionate about making a difference in your community? Bury Care Academy is looking for a dynamic workforce development officer to help us achieve our vision of creating a thriving and high quality care sector across Bury. Working as part of the Bury Care Academy team, you will support with raising awareness of adult social care as a career of choice, develop and deliver training packages to new and current staff as well as supporting people who may be considering care as a career, or looking for work experience placements.

About you

Operational experience of working within adult social care

Minimum Level 4 Learning and Development qualification

Qualified to deliver mandatory training for example Moving and Handling People and Basic Life Support

Understanding of recruitment and the wider adult social care workforce development agenda

Ability to influence and build effective relationships and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders

Ability to think creatively and find solutions

About the role

We are a newly developing team with a remit to support the adult social providers in Bury with their workforce development needs, including managing a centralised recruitment service, developing a care ambassador scheme, working with schools and colleges, facilitating and attending jobs fairs, careers fairs, planning and facilitating sector based academies, development of a rolling programme of training to support the sector to continue to develop and improve and other events and much more.

You’ll play a key role in shaping how we engage and work with our stakeholders. You’ll lead on development projects, develop and manage our care ambassador scheme and work experience placements and support other events and projects as part of the wider team.

Support the planning and commissioning of short courses, development programmes and conferences

Develop high quality training resources and deliver effectively to a range of stakeholders from pre-employment, through operational services to senior management level programmes

Review and evaluate all learning and development interventions to ensure evidence of return on investment

Support the Bury Care Academy team with all their projects including recruitment and wider workforce development initiatives

Promote the opportunities available via the academy to providers and understand any barriers to being able to access these

Develop strong relationships with commissioners and other stakeholders, working collaboratively to support the academy to achieve its aims
