Sous Chef at a Michelin Star Rogan & Co

Rogan & Co is looking for an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to join our award‑winning, Michelin Starred neighbourhood restaurant in Cartmel. This is a key leadership role within our kitchen team, supporting the Head Chef in delivering exceptional food, smooth service, and a positive, professional working environment.

As Sous Chef, you’ll help drive standards, lead the team day‑to‑day, and play an active role in menu development using produce from Our Farm , the heart of our farm‑to‑table ethos.

What You’ll Do...

• Lead and support the kitchen team through prep and service

• Train and mentor Junior Chefs

• Cook and lead service in our open kitchen with calm, polished professionalism

• Engage confidently with guests when needed

• Contribute to menu development using produce from Our Farm

• Manage ordering, stock rotation, suppliers, and inventory

• Maintain high standards of mise en place, hygiene, HACCP, and food safety

• Support rota planning, labour control, and kitchen budgeting

What You’ll Bring...

• 3–5 years’ experience in a senior kitchen role (Michelin‑starred or equivalent ideal)

• Strong leadership and communication skills

• Confidence in an open‑kitchen environment

• Excellent classical and modern cooking knowledge

• High personal standards, organisation, and attention to detail
