Tech Lead (Machine Learning), AI start up - Singapore

AP Executive is partnering with a fast-growing, product-led AI company to find a Technical Lead, Machine Learning to join their team in Singapore. This is a rare opportunity to own the execution layer that turns cutting-edge research into ML systems used by real people at scale.

You'll sit at the intersection of research, infrastructure, and product, taking model direction from the research function and turning it into training pipelines, inference systems, and deployments that hold up under real production pressure: latency, cost, reliability, and safety.

What You'll Be Doing
You'll take end-to-end ownership of ML system execution, covering data pipelines, training workflows, evaluation systems, inference architecture, and deployment. You'll fine-tune and adapt models using current techniques including LoRA, QLoRA, SFT, DPO, and distillation, and you'll architect inference systems that balance latency, cost, and reliability at scale.

You'll design and maintain the data systems behind high-quality synthetic and real-world training data, and build evaluation pipelines that assess performance, robustness, safety, and bias in close partnership with research leadership. On the production side, you'll own GPU optimization, memory efficiency, latency reduction, and scaling policy, working hand-in-hand with application engineering to integrate ML systems cleanly into backend, mobile, and desktop products. You'll make pragmatic calls, ship fast, and learn from how the system actually performs in the wild.

What Success Looks Like
Research and models translate reliably into production-ready solutions against clear performance and quality targets. Training loops, pipelines, and inference systems stay stable, efficient, and maintainable. Production issues get caught, debugged, and resolved with minimal user impact, and the wider team is able to deliver high-impact ML work with minimal friction. Model and system iterations are measurable, safe, and steadily improve the user experience.
