HGV Class 2 Driver - Temp to Perm
Yorkshire (UK-wide work required)
£18.00 per hour | £24.00 OT after 10 hours
The Best Connection are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 2 Driver to join a specialist bridge maintenance company operating across the UK. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity with excellent earning potential and long-term prospects.
About the Role
You will be working as part of a skilled maintenance team carrying out essential repairs on bridges and highway structures.
Projects include:
- Bridge expansion joints installation
- Bridge deck waterproofing
- Concrete repairs
- Bearings and structural maintenance
Work is primarily in Yorkshire , however flexibility is required as you may need to work away 1-2 nights per week (night-out allowance paid) .
⏰ Working Hours
- Minimum 50 hours per week
- Minimum 10-hour shifts
- Mix of day and night shifts (predominantly nights)
- Monday to Friday, with regular weekend overtime available
Pay
- £18.00 per hour
- £24.00 per hour overtime (after 10 hours per shift)
- Night-out allowance paid when working away
What We're Looking For
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence
- Willingness to work nights and away from home when required
- Ability to work safely as part of a small team (2-4 operatives)
- Comfortable working on highways and in physically demanding environments
✅ Desirable (not essential):
- CSCS Card
- Highway maintenance experience
- Plant or machinery tickets/experience
