Operations Engineer supporting manufacturing through precision machining, tooling design, and equipment maintenance at a life-science company in Gloucestershire. Role involves component manufacture, preventative maintenance, and collaboration across production teams to ensure efficient operations.
Responsibilities
- Support daily production through precision machining, engineering, and maintenance activities
- Design and manufacture components for production jigs, fixtures, tooling, and equipment
- Perform preventative and responsive maintenance to minimize production downtime
- Develop and maintain preventative maintenance schedules compliant with ISO 13485
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve technical issues and improve efficiency
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in manufacturing workshop, tool room, or precision engineering environment
- Proven machining experience producing components to tight tolerances
- Practical knowledge of production equipment maintenance and repair
- Experience manufacturing, repairing, and maintaining jigs, fixtures, and tooling
- Understanding of preventative maintenance principles and documentation
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 13485, IVD regulations, and quality standards
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively
