Our Learning Development Department plays a vital role in ensuring that pupils with additional learning needs are fully supported to access the curriculum and thrive within our vibrant school community.

We are seeking an exceptional part time Learning Development Teacher who combines specialist knowledge with warmth, empathy and enthusiasm. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils, teachers and parents to provide outstanding support for learners with a range of needs, fostering both academic progress and personal growth.

The ideal candidate will be a passionate, dynamic and highly effective teacher who is committed to inclusive education and pupil-centred practice. They will be skilled at delivering targeted interventions, building positive relationships and working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure that every pupil is able to flourish. This post offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious professional to contribute to a thriving department within a forward-thinking and supportive school.

The role is to begin in January 2027. Hours are negotiable but expected to fall between 25-30 per week.

Bilton Grange is a happy, flourishing and successful Prep School set in 90 acres of beautiful grounds just south of Rugby. In 2020 it merged with Rugby School and is now part of the Rugby School Group. There are currently around 375 boys and girls in the school, boarding and day, aged between 3 and 13 and the school’s distinguished history is continuing to evolve. In August 2022 we opened Little Grange Nursery, placing a further 100 children under our watchful care and guidance, and in 2025 we opened Earle House, a sector-leading state of the art boarding house. The current Head has been in post since September 2021 and in March 2025 we met all of the standards in our ISI Inspection, receiving some outstanding comments along the way.

Whilst previous experience of day and boarding prep schools is not a pre-requisite, applicants should be aware of the busy term-time existence that working here involves and be open-minded as to how such a learning community is at its most effective by everyone contributing wholeheartedly to supervision, activities outside the classroom and school trips. The school is committed to providing a first-class working environment for its staff; using a staff centred Professional Development Review system for regular opportunities of reflection and development. The school benefits from outstanding operational and administrative support, has a very collegiate common room and a healthy collaboration with colleagues at Rugby School. The Head has been in post since September 2021.
