Overview
A London-based international law firm is looking to appoint a Valuations & Damages Specialist to join its IP team.
You will be supporting the Head of IP Valuations to develop and execute valuation strategies in disputes. Key responsibilities include building collaborative relationships with legal teams and clients, and driving the growth of a new, evolving team. Seeking a qualified accountant, CFA, or economist with exceptional analytical skills, experience in IP disputes, and ability to draft expert reports. Requires strong communication, strategic thinking, and proficient Word and Excel skills. Key Responsibilities
You will be a part of a new & growing team within the firm, so you’ll have the opportunity to be an integral part in building out something new.
This is a great opportunity to move “in house” to see the wider aspects of a dispute and to build meaningful relationships with legal teams, barristers and clients.
The focus will be on IP disputes, but with opportunities to work with the Sports, Dispute Resolution and Competition teams.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Must hold a relevant qualification, either an accountant, Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or economist
- Exceptional analytical skills required, strong communication skills, and a strategic thinker
- Experience of working in disputes setting calculating damages and/or valuing businesses and other assets for litigation and/or arbitration
- Experience of drafting (all or parts of) expert reports
- Ability to explain complex financial concepts or analysis to people unfamiliar with the topics
- Very strong Word and Excel skills
