PROJECT MANAGER (HIGH VOLTAGE SYSTEMS)

Location: Snowdonia Salary: £75,000 - £80,000 Job Type: Fixed Term 2 years Sector: Power & Energy / High Voltage / Infrastructure 1. About the Company The company operates within the infrastructure and power sector, delivering major high voltage and engineering projects. The role will work across HV cable and HV plant works, coordinating with clients, designers, subcontractors, suppliers and wider engineering and construction teams. 2. About the Role The Project Manager (High Voltage Systems) will lead and manage HV cable and HV plant subcontractors, taking responsibility for the technical delivery of the HV works and ensuring compliance with project requirements. The role will also manage HV and MEP design activities, ensuring design deliverables are completed in line with the agreed programme. You will work closely with the Project Director, Engineering Manager, design teams, commercial teams and supply chain. This role requires significant high voltage project experience, including previous experience working on National Grid projects as a contractor. 3. The key responsibilities for this Project Manager role are: Lead HV cable and HV plant subcontractors Manage HV and MEP design activities and deliverables Act as the technical lead for HV works Track and report design deliverables and progress Manage design queries, comments and requests for information Review design reports, submissions and deliverables Maintain design deliverable schedules Review drawings against client requirements Coordinate design interface meetings Manage external suppliers and subcontractors Manage project drawings and document control Coordinate BIM requirements for permanent and temporary works Identify temporary works requirements and support design briefs Develop subcontractor packages, scopes and programmes Support procurement of subcontractors and suppliers Review subcontract accounts and variations Manage cost and value forecasts Manage HV and LV subcontractors and suppliers Manage works to meet specification, programme and commercial requirements Manage construction resources and workload Maintain the resourced construction programme Establish and monitor production targets Support project risk and opportunity management Monitor health, safety, environmental, sustainability and quality performance Support accident, incident and near-miss investigations Monitor project changes and identify uninstructed change Maintain relationships with clients, designers and third parties Provide programme, progress and cost reporting Manage project handover documentation and records 4. Experience required for this Project Manager role are: 10+ years' experience working on high voltage projects with a contractor Previous experience working on National Grid projects as a contractor Experience with 400kV, 275kV or 132kV circuits Substantial construction and design experience Experience managing HV subcontractors and suppliers Experience managing design activities and deliverables Knowledge of National Grid Transmission Procedures and Technical Specifications Understanding of construction methods and outputs Understanding of Principal Designer and Principal Contractor duties Experience working with project programmes, commercial requirements and subcontractors National Grid Competent Person SMSTS trained Valid UK driving licence 5. Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this Project Manager role are: Experience delivering Design & Build projects as a contractor Experience with digital engineering practices across design and construction Experience managing BIM requirements Experience with temporary works requirements Experience working across HV and MEP disciplines 6.
