General Cover Teacher - Greenwich

Smart Teachers are currently recruiting for a General Cover Teacher with QTS to work across secondary schools in Greenwich. This is an excellent opportunity for an adaptable and confident teacher looking for flexible supply work, with opportunities available from September 2026.

About the role

As a General Cover Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects and year groups. You will play an important role in maintaining continuity of learning and ensuring high standards of behaviour and engagement throughout the school day.

The successful candidate will:

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Supervise and support students in the absence of their usual teacher.
• Follow school policies and maintain effective classroom management.
• Adapt confidently to different subjects, year groups and school environments.
• Provide a positive and supportive learning environment.
• Complete basic lesson administration and provide feedback where required.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of General Cover Teacher - Greenwich you will:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching within a secondary school setting.
• Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills.
• Ability to deliver pre-planned lessons effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Adaptability and confidence working across different subjects and year groups.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

• The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant experience working within a secondary school setting.
