Leigh Academy Halley is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant , joining September 2026 on a permanent basis. This role delivers the curriculum to classes through working collaboratively with teachers and teaching assistants in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources. To ensure progress for all students by utilising advanced levels of knowledge and skills when planning, monitoring, assessing and managing classes, and to encourage students to become independent learners, whilst providing support for students with medical, personal care and behavioural needs.
We’d like to hear from you if you would like to:
Support, assist and supervise students during lessons and at lunchtimes.
Work with individuals or groups of students to address targets identified in their individual learning plans.
Promote and reinforce students’ self-esteem, independence and participation within the Academy community.
Support students who may exhibit challenging behaviour, are disaffected, have learning difficulties and complex needs.
Participate in the planning process to advise teachers on strategies as necessary.
Assist in the delivery of intervention and support programmes.
Provide assistance as required in the development of learning resources.

This role offers an actual salary of £31,612 per annum (£36,267 full-time equivalent), based on experience. This is working 35 hours per week (8:15am - 3:45pm, Monday to Friday), term time + 1 week inset. We are open to receiving applications from prospective candidates who wish to work part-time (32.5 hours per week).
