Dubai British School Jumeira is recruiting exceptional educational professionals, including Science Teachers, to join the Secondary team for 2027-2028.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for suitably qualified professionals who are passionately innovative, cognitively agile and committed to continual professional learning. 

The Role

As we grow into Year 9, we are looking to add a Science specialist who will work alongside our existing Science team to continue to develop and deliver the KS3 curriculum, whilst also planning ahead for our first GCSE cohort beginning in August 2028. Ideally, we need a Physics specialist to complement our exisiting Chemistry and Biology specialists, but we understand that many Science teachers are adept enough in all three Sciences up to GCSE level, so it is open to all. Candidates who are also able to deliver Year 7 Maths would be of particular interest.

The successful candidate will be a skilled classroom practitioner who contributes meaningfully to both student learning and school culture. They will design learning experiences that celebrate student individuality, challenge thinking, and develop essential competencies for success in an ever-changing world.

Candidate Profile

Essential

• A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, BEd or equivalent)

• A minimum of 2 years teaching experience in a relevant setting

• Evidence of strong teaching practice and student progress

• Alignment with DBSJ’s ethos and commitment to professional reflection and growth

• Willingness to contribute to extra-curricular and whole-school initiatives

• Understanding of data-informed teaching and inclusive strategies

Desirable

• Experience in British or international curriculum schools

• Familiarity with KHDA or DSIB frameworks - specifically regarding compliancy with chemical storage and effective management of Science technicians

• An ability to teach Year 7 Maths
