Lead Local Advisory Board (LAB) Member

With SEND and inclusion high on the agenda in the years ahead, we are looking for someone to lead our Local Advisory Board (LAB) at Endeavour Specialist Academy in Oxfordshire.

The governors meet four times per year, and most board members visit the school each term to meet with the team and see aspects of the school in action. We are a non-profit, maintained academy specialising in supporting learners with a diagnosis of Autism, who may also face additional challenges such as communication difficulties, but who have the potential to lead brilliant adult lives, fully embedded within their communities.

The person we are looking for:

• You might be someone who simply wants to give back to their community

• You may have a personal or professional interest in SEND and disabilities

• You may be working in a mainstream school that wants to do more for its SEND pupils

• You may be working in or alongside a SEND provision and see this as a way to build stronger partnerships

• You may be planning for retirement but want to continue using your knowledge and skills in education and/or SEND in a meaningful way

Our commitment:

• We will provide full training for any new Chair

• A Clerk will be available to support all of our valued LAB and Trustee volunteers

• You will gain a brilliant insight into our team, our learners and our values in action
