Reeson Education are recruiting a skilled Intervention Specialist for a supportive and inclusive school in Barnsley (S75) starting from September 2026. This role is ideal for an experienced education professional who can deliver targeted interventions, raise attainment, and support pupils who require additional academic or pastoral assistance.
About the Intervention Specialist Role:
As an Intervention Specialist, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support to improve their academic progress, confidence, and engagement in learning. You will deliver structured interventions, monitor progress, and collaborate with teaching staff to ensure positive outcomes for all learners.
Key Responsibilities as an Intervention Specialist:
- Targeted Intervention Delivery: Deliver targeted one-to-one and small-group interventions to support pupil progress.
- Learning Gap Identification: Identify learning gaps and implement effective intervention strategies.
- Confidence & Engagement Development: Support pupils in developing confidence, independence, and engagement with learning.
- Progress Monitoring & Assessment: Monitor, assess, and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
- Collaborative Support Planning: Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals to support individual learning plans.
To succeed as an Intervention Specialist, you will need:
- Previous experience working within an educational setting, ideally delivering interventions or targeted support.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach to supporting learning.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply through Reeson Education.
