GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are seeking confident and reliable Cover Supervisor (CS) for welcoming schools in Barnsley . This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience working with young people who are keen to support schools by supervising lessons, maintaining positive behaviour, and ensuring learning continues during teacher absences.

The Cover Supervisor role allows you to play an important part in the day-to-day running of the school by managing classrooms, supporting pupil engagement, and helping create a calm, productive learning environment.

Cover Supervisor Responsibilities:

* Supervise pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
* Manage classroom behaviour to ensure a positive learning environment
* Support pupils in completing the work provided by teaching staff
* Record attendance and report any concerns or incidents to school leaders
* Build positive relationships with pupils while encouraging engagement and participation
* Follow school safeguarding, behaviour, and health and safety policies at all times

Cover Supervisor Requirements:

* Previous experience working with children or young people in a school, coaching, youth work, or similar setting
* Confident managing groups of pupils and maintaining classroom discipline
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Calm, adaptable, and professional approach
* Ability to work independently and follow school procedures
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
