Accounts Payable Assistant
Torbay, Devon
£26,000 - £28,000 per annum
Our client, a leading business in the Southwest, is currently seeking an Accounts Payable Assistant to join their dynamic team on a full-time, temporary basis.
As the Accounts Payable Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the finance department, ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of high-volume transactions.
The responsibilities:
- Process and monitor payments and expenditures to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Handle high-volume supplier invoices, ensuring they are correctly matched to purchase orders and authorised for payment.
- Reconcile accounts payable ledgers and supplier statements.
- Payment runs.
- Resolve invoice discrepancies and liaise with internal departments or suppliers as required.
- Maintain accurate records of transactions and filing systems.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
The candidate:
- Previous experience in accounts payable, ideally with exposure to high-volume international transactions.
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills for liaising with suppliers and internal teams.
