We are recruiting for an experienced Technical Sales Engineer to cover the North East of England , developing sales, supporting customers and distributors, and identifying new business opportunities.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer with strong knowledge of machine tools, machining processes and technical sales who enjoys working directly with customers and helping them improve productivity and reduce costs.
The Role
You will be responsible for developing business across the region, growing market share and building long-term relationships with customers and distribution partners.
Key Responsibilities
Develop sales and increase market share across the North East.
Build and maintain strong customer and distributor relationships.
Identify and develop new customer opportunities.
Provide technical support and respond to customer enquiries.
Conduct cutting tool tests at customer sites to optimise production.
Demonstrate value through cost-saving and ROI analysis.
Work from technical drawings and understand customer requirements.
Manage key strategic accounts and maintain accurate CRM records.
Manage your own territory and priorities with a high degree of autonomy.
About You
You should have:
Solid experience working with machine tools, including programming and/or setting .
Experience working from technical drawings.
Previous technical sales or customer-facing engineering experience.
Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
A proactive, self-motivated approach.
Good understanding of sales techniques.
Experience with Office 365, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM systems .
CAD/CAM experience is preferred.
A full UK driving licence.
Qualifications & Experience
Advanced Apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification.
HND or equivalent preferred/minimum.
Ideally 5+ years' experience as a skilled engineer .
