Salary Scale: £92 - £115 per day (Depending on experience) Support young people to overcome challenges, build confidence, and achieve success in a positive and inclusive secondary school environment! GSL Education are currently recruiting for a compassionate, proactive, and dedicated Learning Mentor to work within a welcoming secondary school in North Yorkshire. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting students' personal, social, and academic development. Working closely with pastoral teams, teachers, and families, you will help learners overcome barriers to education, improve their engagement, and develop the confidence and resilience needed to succeed. About the Role: As a Learning Mentor, you will provide targeted support to students through one-to-one and small-group mentoring sessions. You will build positive relationships with learners, encourage good attendance and behaviour, and help create an environment where every student feels supported to reach their full potential. Core Responsibilities of the Learning Mentor: * Provide one-to-one and small-group mentoring to support students' wellbeing and academic progress
* Help learners overcome barriers to learning, improving engagement, confidence, and attendance
* Promote positive behaviour and encourage resilience, independence, and personal development
* Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, and families to support student success
* Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of interventions and outcomes
* Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment As the Ideal Learning Mentor, You Should Have: * Experience working with children or young people in education, mentoring, youth work, coaching, or care settings
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting young people
* Ability to build positive relationships and motivate learners from a range of backgrounds
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to adapt to individual student needs
