Key Responsibilities
* Assess and identify students' speech, language, communication, and interaction needs.
* Plan and deliver appropriate therapy and intervention programmes tailored to individual students' needs.
* Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, helping them develop their speech, language, communication, and social interaction skills.
* Work with students across a range of abilities and needs, adapting therapy and support to meet individual requirements where appropriate.
* Support students with speech, language, and communication difficulties, including receptive and expressive language, speech sounds, social communication, and interaction needs.
* Encourage students to develop their confidence, independence, communication skills, and ability to engage positively with others.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, teaching assistants, parents, and other professionals to support students' progress and wellbeing.
* Provide advice, guidance, and practical strategies to school staff to help support students' communication needs within the classrooms. Requirements * Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
* The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with children and young people.
* The ability to assess individual needs and deliver appropriate therapy and intervention programmes.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a caseload effectively.
* A patient, flexible, and child-centred approach to supporting individual needs.
* The ability to work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and other professionals.
* A commitment to inclusion and supporting children and young people to reach their full potential.
* An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
