Full-time, permanent leadership position | September start
Our client is seeking an articulate, detail-oriented SENCo to join their Senior Leadership Team (SLT) from September. Serving as the primary advocate for pupils with additional learning needs, neurodiverse profiles, and physical disabilities, you will lead the strategic direction and operational management of the learning support department.
Your core responsibilities will include coordinating statutory Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) applications, conducting comprehensive annual reviews, designing targeted academic and nurture intervention programs, and maintaining an audit-ready SEND register in strict accordance with the national SEND Code of Practice. Additionally, you will line-manage a dedicated team of Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) and Teaching Assistants, deliver internal CPD on adaptive quality-first teaching, and collaborate closely with external agencies—including local authority SEN teams, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists.

Qualifications & Criteria
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) alongside the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCo or NPQ SENCo)
Extensive operational knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, EHCP funding processes, and statutory review frameworks
Demonstrated track record of leading interventions, conducting diagnostic assessments, and line-managing support staff
Exceptional communication, de-escalation, and multi-agency liaison capabilities
