The Role
A secondary school in Walsall is seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join its English department from September 2026 on a supply basis.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging and well-structured English Language and English Literature lessons, helping students develop their reading, writing, communication, and analytical skills. You will inspire students to engage with a wide range of texts while supporting them to make strong academic progress.
You will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons, assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment. You will uphold high expectations for behaviour and achievement while encouraging students to develop confidence, creativity, and a genuine appreciation of English.

The Candidate
The successful candidate will:

• Hold QTS or be an ECT
• Have experience teaching English Language and English Literature
• Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills
• Be committed to supporting student progress and raising attainment
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Have a genuine passion for English and inspiring young people
