Job summary
We welcome applications from highly motivated Occupational Therapists to provide specialist occupational therapy input into the newly established Children and Young People's Weight Management Service. Working collaboratively with multi disciplinary colleagues the post holder will be responsible for the design, implementation and evaluation of the Children and Young People's Weight Management Service, acting as the occupational therapy expert. This is an exciting new post working alongside colleagues in medicine, nursing, clinical psychology, dietetics and physiotherapy. Main duties of the job

- Autonomously manage a highly specialised caseload providing assessment and treatment of individuals formulating and implementing specialist Occupational Therapy programmes using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions. (Organising this efficiently and effectively with regard to clinical priorities and use of time).
- Develop and maintain clinical standards across the Health Board.
- Develop and support education and training within weight management for children and young people.
- Undertake critical analysis, appraisal and synthesis of current research outcomes and/or relevant literature in order to maintain expert levels of knowledge and practice within weight management and paediatrics.
- Work closely with relevant networks.
- Contribute to the development of new and innovative concepts, models, methods and practices, in order to transform i.e. support / deliver new and improved children and young people's weight management provision across Therapy services and settings (reflective ofthe rural nature of local services).

Qualifications and Knowledge
- Essential: Degree / Diploma in Occupational Therapy
- Professional registration as recognised by HPC
- Evidence of attendance on relevant short courses and advanced training relevant to specialist area up to Master's level equivalent
- Desirable: MSc & / or postgraduate diploma level in relevant area
- Fieldwork Education Training
- Member of BAOT
- Leadership training
- Desirable: Welsh Speaker (Level 1)
- Essential: Extensive post - graduate experience in either weight management or paediatrics
- Managing a complex caseload
- Delivering assessments / interventions via virtual platforms
- Inter-professional and multiagency team working.
- Direct involvement with carers and families
- Negotiation of service development
- Evidence of supporting service compliance with clinical governance requirements
- Therapeutic handling and risk assessments in relation to patient care including severely disabled patients
- Experience in staff development e.g. supervision
- Experience of appropriate delegation and supervision
