What you will do

* Actively promote effective assessment, care planning, intervention, and review for children in need of care and support, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practices.
* Support and promote a best practice culture within the directorate, raising expectations for high standards across the workforce.
* Develop user feedback processes to keep children, young people, and families at the heart of the directorate's activities, incorporating feedback into service developments.
* Monitor and manage the performance and development of social workers and support staff in partnership with team managers.
* Conduct thorough quality assurance audits, identifying good practices and areas for improvement, and recommend enhancements.
* Foster dissemination of good practices across the workforce in collaboration with team managers.
* Provide expert knowledge and leadership on social care matters, working with various stakeholders to resolve policy and practice issues.
* Develop and implement new policy initiatives and respond to service needs in collaboration with regional safeguarding boards and training providers.
* Deliver analysis and interpretation of audit information to various audiences, contributing to the Regional Safeguarding Board.
* Promote strengths-based frameworks and contribute to service planning and development.
* Represent Social Services in multi-agency forums and ensure effective partnership working.
* Conduct research to support practice development and engage actively in continuous improvement activities.
