As a Solicitor within the Court of Protection team, you will work closely with experienced Partners, Deputies and senior lawyers while gradually developing responsibility for your own caseload responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the management of Property and Financial Affairs Deputyship matters.
- Managing your own caseload under appropriate supervision.
- Preparing Court of Protection applications and annual Deputy Reports.
- Supporting the day-to-day management of clients' financial affairs, including budgeting, payments and property transactions.
- Assisting with the administration of Personal Injury Trusts.
- Building strong relationships with clients, families, case managers, healthcare professionals and other professional contacts.
- Working closely with paralegals and internal and external legal teams.
- Attending client meetings and visits where appropriate.
- Developing expertise in areas such as statutory wills, care funding and benefits.
- Supporting business development and client relationship initiatives.
To be considered for this Court of Protection Solicitor opportunity, you will ideally have:
- Qualified Solicitor status in England & Wales.
- Between 0-3 years' PQE.
- A genuine interest in Court of Protection Property and Financial Affairs work.
- Excellent communication and client care skills.
- The ability to build trusted relationships with vulnerable clients and professional contacts.
- Strong organisational, drafting and analytical abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail.
