Sports Coach - SEMH Support (KS1 & KS2) Scunthorpe Full-Time | Supply to Permanent Opportunity Through GSL Education

Are you a passionate and resilient Sports Coach looking to make a real difference in children's lives?

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and energetic Sports Coach to work full-time within primary settings across Scunthorpe, supporting pupils across KS1 and KS2 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong sports, coaching, youth work or behaviour support background who is confident using sport and physical activity to engage and motivate children who may struggle within traditional classroom environments.

The role will begin on a supply basis, allowing you to build relationships and experience within the school, with the opportunity to progress into a permanent position for the right candidate.

The Role:

Deliver engaging sports and physical activity sessions
Support pupils with SEMH needs both inside and outside the classroom
Build positive relationships and encourage emotional regulation
Promote teamwork, confidence and resilience
Work collaboratively with teaching staff and SEN professionals
Provide consistent behaviour support and mentoring

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience coaching children or young people
A calm, patient and proactive approach
Experience supporting SEMH, challenging behaviour or additional needs
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Availability to work full-time
A genuine passion for supporting children's development
