This role sits within our Health Sciences & Wellness team and focuses on Life Sciences pricing and market access strategy. We work collaboratively to tackle complex challenges and deliver exceptional results for our clients.

We advise on a broad range of strategic issues, including core value propositions, competitive positioning and growth strategies. Within Life Sciences, we help pharmaceutical, biotech and medtech clients navigate pricing, reimbursement and market access challenges so that innovative products can reach the patients who need them. EY-Parthenon Strategy employees work closely with influential and highly experienced professionals within the firm and at clients’ organisations.

Our work applies deep Life Sciences, health system and strategy knowledge across projects such as:

• Pricing, reimbursement and market access strategy, including price potential, payer strategy and product launch sequencing
• Value proposition, value communication strategy, payer objection handler development and negotiation strategy
• HTA, evidence and launch readiness strategy, including evidence-gap assessment and implications for HEOR and real-world evidence planning
• Portfolio, indication and market prioritisation, opportunity assessment, and innovative access and contracting models
• Disease area strategy, patient journey assessment, stakeholder mapping, and funding landscape assessments

You’ll work in high-performing, integrated teams supporting global and local pharmaceutical, biotech and medtech clients. The variety of therapeutic areas, markets and product lifecycle stages will provide continuous learning and development opportunities.

The Opportunity

We are expanding our Life Sciences team with Consultants dedicated to pricing and market access strategy. You will contribute to engagements that help clients understand payer and health-system needs, demonstrate product value, shape pricing and access decisions, and prepare for successful launches.

As a Consultant, you will be an individual contributor who owns defined analyses and project modules from question formulation through to insight synthesis. Working with guidance from senior colleagues, you will apply robust qualitative and quantitative methods and translate findings into practical implications for clients.

EY-Parthenon has a flat structure, giving you direct exposure to experienced colleagues and clients. You will present your analysis, support interviews and workshops, and help develop and executes work plans while building your capabilities in Life Sciences strategy and market access.

You will also contribute to proposals, thought leadership and internal initiatives such as learning, recruitment and the development of our pricing and market access offerings. You will be supported through formal training, coaching, mentoring and counselling tailored to your development.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Own defined analyses and project modules, clarifying the client question, selecting the right approach and delivering high-quality outputs
• Conduct structured secondary research on disease areas, treatment pathways, competitors, health systems, payer requirements, HTA processes, pricing and reimbursement
• Support and conduct primary research with payers, clinicians, patients and other stakeholders, including development of discussion guides and synthesis of interviews
• Build qualitative and quantitative analyses such as analogue benchmarking, pricing research, access archetypes, evidence-gap assessments and opportunity sizing
• Synthesize evidence into clear insights, implications and client-ready storylines, presentations, reports and models
• Contribute to client meetings, interviews and workshops, and present analysis clearly and confidently
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary and international teams while contributing to an inclusive culture, practice development and business development

Skills and attributes for success

Successful candidates are intellectually curious, rigorous and practical problem-solvers with a genuine interest in how evidence, value, affordability and health-system priorities shape patient access. You will communicate clearly, work collaboratively and take ownership of high-quality analysis in a fast-paced consulting environment.

What we look for

• Be educated to bachelor’s degree level or equivalent, ideally in Life Sciences, Health Economics, Health Policy, Economics, Business or another relevant discipline
• Have a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in strategy consulting, market access consulting or a pharmaceutical, biotech or medtech organisation
• Have experience in at least one relevant area, such as pricing and reimbursement, market access strategy, value proposition, payer research, HTA or evidence strategy
• Demonstrate strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, with the ability to structure complex questions and work confidently with Excel and PowerPoint
• Communicate clearly and concisely, and engage effectively with clients, experts and team members

Ideally, you will also

• Understand payer, HTA, pricing and reimbursement dynamics in one or more major markets
• Have experience conducting primary research with payers, healthcare professionals, patients or policy stakeholders
• Build productive working relationships and collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary and international teams
• Show strong written communication, attention to detail and the ability to develop compelling client-ready presentations
• Hold a relevant postgraduate qualification and/or speak an additional major language
