Are you an experienced SEND Officerready to step into a fast-paced, highly impactful role where your expertise will directly support children and families? You will be joining a focused recovery team tasked with making a real difference, clearing backlog, improving timelines, and ensuring high-quality EHC plans are delivered. This is your chance to take ownership, work autonomously, and showcase your ability to manage complex caseloads while collaborating closely with schools and families.
Your role as a SEND Officer:
- Produce high-quality EHC Plans and draft amendments efficiently (target of ~10 per week).
- Lead annual review casework within a recovery/backlog team.
- Manage a dedicated school locality, acting as the key point of contact.
- Work collaboratively with schools, families, and professionals.
- Handle complex cases with confidence, ensuring compliance with legislation.
Your previous experience as a SEND Officer:
- Proven track record of writing strong, compliant EHC Plans.
- Extensive SEND Team experience within a local authority setting.
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and statutory processes.
- Excellent communication skills when liaising with families and schools.
- Positive references that reflect your quality and reliability.
You will initially focus on recovery work before transitioning into a locality-based SEND Officerrole, giving you variety and long-term impact. The process is streamlined, just a 30-minute Teams interview followed by a practical task, with decisions made quickly so you can get started without delay.
