Consultant in Rheumatology and Lupus
£113.57k - £150.57k per annumFull-time
Job summary
We are pleased to advertise for a full time rheumatology consultant to take over the care of an existing patient cohort and add to a dynamic and growing team. This post requires flexible working to provide consistency in patient care. It involves covering various clinics each week with the majority based at the Guy's Hospital site, with on call commitments primarily at St Thomas's Hospital site, but also Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospital sites. We are exploring new ways of working including non face-to-face contact and the post-holder will be asked to contribute to these as appropriate. Whilst we have sufficient funding for a full time candidate, we would consider less than full time applications. You must be fully registered with the GMC and hold Licence to Practice and be on the Specialist Register, or within six months of attaining your CCT or equivalent at interview stage. The postholder will have regular contact with vulnerable adults and/or children (0-18 years) and therefore this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions. Main duties of the job

To develop and maintain the competencies required to carry out the duties required of the post.

KHP is one of just five accredited UK Academic Health Sciences Centres (AHSCs). Through our AHSC, we are committed to making research and education integral to the delivery of high quality clinical care. The King's Health Partners Integrated Cancer Centre (ICC) is the vehicle for developing and managing cancer research, clinical services, and training and development across all of the KHP partner organisations. As an organisation, we are committed to developing our services in ways that best suit the needs of our patients. This includes asking certain groups of staff to work more flexibly so that we can offer services to patients in the evenings and at weekends. We regard this flexibility as essential if we are to continue to provide first class patient care in the future. As a result, any offer of employment to a consultant post will be subject to you agreeing to work a new more flexible pattern of working in the future if required and in accordance with the provisions of the new Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust consultant contract.
