Job Description
Executive Recruiter
\nBirmingham | £50,000 to £55,000 plus annual bonus | Permanent
\nHybrid working with 1 to 2 days per week in the office, with two days preferred
\n \nJames Adams is partnering with a large professional services organisation to recruit an Executive Recruiter.
\n \nThis is an opportunity to join a specialist executive hiring team responsible for Director and Partner appointments across the UK.
\n \nThe organisation has an established approach to Partner recruitment and is now investing in bringing the same level of research, market intelligence and strategic delivery to its Director-level hiring.
\n \nThis is not a volume recruitment position. You will work on complex, commercially important appointments where the quality of the search, accuracy of the market mapping and way candidates are engaged matter more than traditional activity metrics.
\n \nThe role
\nWorking alongside experienced executive recruiters and senior stakeholders, you will:
\n• Manage Director and Partner searches from initial briefing through to appointment
\n• Build detailed search strategies based on each role, market and business area
\n• Research and map senior talent across relevant organisations
\n• Identify, approach and engage senior candidates in a credible and highly personalised way
\n• Develop diverse pipelines of prospective leadership talent
\n• Produce accurate market maps, candidate profiles and competitor intelligence
\n• Provide stakeholders with evidence-based insight into relevant talent markets
\n• Manage candidates carefully throughout the interview and assessment process
\n• Maintain consistently high standards across search documentation, reporting and candidate data
\n• Help develop a more strategic and consistent approach to Director-level recruitment
\n• Contribute to broader executive hiring and Talent Acquisition projects
\n \nThe environment
\nYou will join a small, collaborative executive recruitment team operating within a broader in-house Talent Acquisition function.
\n \nThe team supports appointments across several professional services disciplines, including advisory, consulting and technology-focused areas. Searches are UK-wide and frequently involve complex or specialist markets.
\n \nSuccess is measured through the quality of delivery rather than simply the number of calls or messages made. Objectives may include the accuracy of market mapping, stakeholder feedback, candidate engagement and the consistent use of a structured search process.
\nAlongside shared quarterly objectives, team members are also encouraged to set an individual development goal based on an area they would personally like to improve.
\n \nAbout you
\nWe would be particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have:
\n• Experience within executive search, retained search or senior-level recruitment
\n• Recruited Director, Partner or senior leadership positions
\n• Strong research, sourcing and talent-mapping capabilities
\n• Experience managing candidates through a senior recruitment process
\n• The ability to understand a complex brief and turn it into a structured search strategy
\n• Confidence approaching and building relationships with senior professionals
\n• Excellent written communication and presentation skills
\n• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work
\n• The credibility to work with senior business stakeholders
\n• A thoughtful, consultative approach to recruitment
\n• The ability to manage several detailed assignments at different stages|
\n \nYou could currently be working for an executive search firm and looking to move in-house, or already be part of an internal recruitment team delivering senior appointments. Previous professional services experience would be helpful but is not essential.
\n \nWhat’s on offer
\n• A salary of £50,000 to £55,000, depending on experience
\n• An annual performance-related bonus
\n• Hybrid working with 1 to 2 days per week in Birmingham
\n• Exposure to senior, commercially important appointments
\n• Quarterly rather than monthly performance objectives
\n• A quality-led environment without a traditional volume recruitment culture
\n• The opportunity to help shape and improve an evolving executive recruitment model
\n• Support from an established wider Talent Acquisition team
\n \nThe interview process will consist of two stages. If you have experience delivering executive or senior leadership searches and would like to use those skills within a strategic in-house environment, we would be very happy to speak with you.
