Community Phlebotomist

Are you passionate about delivering high-quality patient care in the community? We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Community Phlebotomist to join our dedicated Adult Community Nursing Service across Guildford and Waverley.

In this rewarding role, you will be a valued member of the Community Nursing Team, delivering essential venepuncture services directly to patients in their own homes and care settings. You’ll play a vital role in supporting patient independence, comfort, and continuity of care—bringing clinical expertise right to the heart of the community.

This is a part-time position, with flexible working opportunities across Monday to Sunday, between 8am and 8pm, offering a great work-life balance.

In this role, you will work closely with a Registered Nurse within the community setting, delivering high-quality nursing support to patients in the comfort of their own homes. As a trusted and autonomous practitioner, you will carry out a wide range of venepuncture procedures, demonstrating clinical expertise while working independently under the guidance of the District Nurse.

You will play a key role in ensuring safe, effective care by carrying out venepuncture on adult patients in line with established policies, protocols, and Standard Operating Procedures. Your attention to detail and commitment to best practice will contribute to consistently high standards of patient care across the service.

As an experienced practitioner, you will also act as a role model for phlebotomy, supporting and guiding newly appointed Community Nursing staff and Healthcare Assistants in developing their skills and confidence.

This role requires confidence in using digital systems to accurately record patient visits, as well as the ability to travel independently to patients’ homes across Guildford and Waverley. A willingness to further develop your skills, including undertaking the Healthcare Assistant Certificate where required, is essential.
